Swing low...sweet --- KABLAAAG!!!

Mom called me and said she finally brought out the hammock swing we got from Boracay last month. It's a pretty white knitted swing hung from a bamboo pole that still needs to be hung to another strong slab of wood using a rope. My mother dearest found a spot for the swing in the garden, installed it on one of the stronger frames of the trellis covering a corner.

MOM: "Ang ganda pero nakakatakot upuan, baka masyado kong mabigat."
SHERIE: "Ano ba ginamit mong pang kabit?"
MOM: "Yun." (pointing to a black strap, kinda like the ones we used for rapelling back in camp)
SHERIE: "Ah ok, kaso parang ang taas." (Mounts self on the swing while finding comfortable position) "O. Ok naman pala eh." (Starts swinging slowly)
MOM: "Baka mauntog ka sa aircon" (if you knew our house, you'd know where this is)
SHERIE: "Di, malayo naman eh." (continues swinging) "Sarap ah." (smiling)

Then for a moment it felt light. Too light.

BLAAAAAAAG

SHERIE: (on the ground) "Ooooouch..."
MOM: "Ay...Hindi nga pala kaya." (suppressing giggles) "Masakit ba?"
SHERIE: "Hindi ako makagalaw..."
MOM: "Buti nalang pala hindi ko tinry kanina."

Right now, I don't know which hurts more - my elbows, my back, my butt or my pride. :P

Gaaad i love my mother.
